Platelet Rich Plasma Treatments at Our Essex Clinics
Rejuvenate and restore your skin using Platelet rich plasma.
The treatment that people are talking about all over the world, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) also known as the “Vampire Facial” is now available to the people of Essex from our clinics in Langdon Hills, Hornchurch and Rayleigh.
There has been a lot of attention on platelet rich plasma treatments since celebrities started posting pictures of themselves to social media while they look covered in blood.
Thankfully, like most things Hollywood, the truth is a lot more tame.
No, that isn’t their face bleeding, they have extracted a substance from their own blood (platelet rich plasma) and applied it to their skin in one way or another.
This is done for the cosmetic benefits platelet rich plasma has for the skin.
What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?
Platelet rich plasma is your body’s natural healer.
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is a substance we extract from your own blood. It contains a high concentration of platelets, the part of your blood designed to heal damaged tissue.
When used in specific areas, or in combination with a collagen induction treatment (such as microneedling or dermarolling) it gives the skin an extra boost of healing and restoration. It can also be used in the treatment of hair loss.
Getting your platelet rich plasma is a simple procedure. We extract a small amount of your blood, place it in a centrifuge and give it a spin.
This will seperate your white and red blood cells, as well as the platelet rich plasma… the part that we will use.
Platelet Rich Plasma Treatment Options
Once we extract your platelet rich plasma, we have a few options of how to use it…
The first, and most common way to use the platelet rich plasma, is in combination with a collagen induction therapy such as dermarolling, or as our clients tend to prefer, microneedling.
Microneedling has a huge number of benefits alone, including the treatment of scarring (including acne scarring and stretchmarks), facial lines, wrinkles, loose skin and more…
It involves piercing lots of tiny holes that subtly break the surface of the skin in order to promote the body’s own healing mechanism, known as collagen induction.
While the skin is at this stage, the use of topical platelet rich plasma greatly improves it’s ability to heal and restore itself, resulting in an even more rejuvenated and restored complextion.
This treatment can is not just for the face, it can also be used on the neck and decolette.
Another option for platelet rich plasma is to inject it directly into specific areas that your wish to target use the nappage technique.
This involves using a special needle to manually inject the PRP in short, low impact injections in targeted areas of the face.
This could be around the eyes, above the mouth, or even into your scalp to help with hair loss problems. In fact, any area that you would like to see rejuvenated can be helped by targeted platelet rich plasma injections.
Both methods have their advantages and can even be combined into one treatment.
