How Do Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injections Work?

Aqualyx liquifies your fat cells and removes them naturally.

Using a technique called Aqaulysis or Aquaplasty, Aqualyx is injected into localised fat pockets that you wish to target.

Aqualyx consists of phosphatidycholine, a natural substance that can cause the destruction of fat cells when given in high doses.

The injections work by breaking down the fat cell membranes to liquify the cells. This releases lipids which are released naturally into the lymphatic system.

This destroys the fat cells completely, and providing a proper diet and exercise is maintained, they should not return.

The procedure is made up of a set of injections to be given three to four weeks apart.

What To Expect During and After Aqualyx Fat Dissolving Injections

After your initial consultation, we will mark out the areas to target for injection.

We will use a number of injections fanned out over the area that you’d like to target to make sure it is all covered.

The procedure should be pretty painless as we mix the Aqualyx with Lidocaine (an anaesthetic) before we start for greater comfort.

Results can be seen after just one session, however, we recommend you return to us in around three or four weeks, so we can have a look at the results and see if there is any more work that can be done to achieve your goals.

As it is a non-surgical treatment, there is no downtime associated with the Aqualyx injections. You’ll be ready to work and drive as soon as you leave us.

Before we administer any Aqualyx fat dissolving injections, we’ll begin with a consultation.

We do this so that you can understand the implications and limitations of the injections. As we said before, Aqualyx fat dissolving injections are a body contouring treatment and not a weight loss solution.

You’ll need to be within a stone of your target weight to be considered for treatment, and we must be able to pinch about 3cm of fat at the target area.

If you meet the criteria for Aqaulyx, we can begin treatment immediately.

We’ll draw out a grid on the target areas and begin injecting you the same day.

After treatment, we’ll make an appointment for three or four weeks time, so we can check on your progress and provide more injections if required.
